Alcohol and opioids The concomitant use of alcohol and opioids improves the possibility of sedation, respiratory melancholy, coma and death due to additive CNS depressant effect. Concomitant use with alcohol will not be advisable (see section four.4).Like all medicines, co-codamol can cause Unwanted side effects although not everyone will get them.
